Slip Switch — Terms & Privacy
Effective date: February 11, 2026
Terms of Service
NOTICE: Please read these Terms carefully. They cover important information about the Slip Switch desktop application provided to you (the “Application” or “Slip Switch”). These Terms include information about future changes to these Terms, limitations of liability, a class action waiver, and resolution of disputes by arbitration instead of in court.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR USE OF AND ACCESS TO SLIP SWITCH (DEFINED BELOW) ARE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS; IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THE FOLLOWING, YOU MAY NOT INSTALL OR USE SLIP SWITCH IN ANY MANNER.
Welcome to Slip Switch
Please read on to learn the rules and restrictions that govern your use of the Slip Switch desktop application. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding these terms or Slip Switch, please contact us using the contact information provided at the bottom of this page.
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding contract between you and Geshido Corporation (“Geshido,” “we” and “us”). You must agree to and accept all of the Terms, or you don’t have the right to install or use Slip Switch. Your installing or using Slip Switch in any way means that you agree to all of these Terms, and these Terms will remain in effect while you use Slip Switch. These Terms include the provisions in this document, as well as those in the Privacy Policy.
What is Slip Switch?
Slip Switch is a desktop application that serves as an always-on-top note-taking and focus management tool. It helps users stay focused and anchored on priorities while multi-tasking. Slip Switch is available for Windows and macOS.
Will these terms ever change?
We are constantly trying to improve Slip Switch, so these Terms may need to change along with the Application. We reserve the right to change the Terms at any time, but if we do, we will bring it to your attention by updating the application, placing a notice on our website, and/or by some other means.
If you don’t agree with the new Terms, you are free to reject them; unfortunately, that means you will no longer be able to use Slip Switch and should uninstall the application. If you use Slip Switch in any way after a change to the Terms is effective, that means you agree to all of the changes.
Except for changes by us as described here, no other amendment or modification of these Terms will be effective unless in writing and agreed to by both you and us.
The most recent version of these Terms and Privacy Policy is available at https://geshido.com/terms-privacy. If the version available online is newer than the version displayed in the application, the online version supersedes the in-app version.
What about my privacy?
Geshido takes the privacy of its users very seriously. Please review our Privacy Policy for more information on how your data may be used and stored due to your use of the Application.
What are the basics of using Slip Switch?
Slip Switch is a desktop application that does not require you to create an account with Geshido. The application’s core functionality operates locally on your device. However, certain features such as update checks and license verification require an internet connection and may communicate with Geshido’s servers or third-party payment processors as described in the “Online Services” and “License Validation and Payment Processing” sections below.
You represent and warrant that if you are an individual, you are of legal age to form a binding contract (or if not, you’ve received your parent’s or guardian’s permission to use Slip Switch and gotten your parent or guardian to agree to these Terms on your behalf).
You will only use Slip Switch in a manner that complies with all laws that apply to you. If your use of Slip Switch is prohibited by applicable laws, then you aren’t authorized to use Slip Switch. We can’t and won’t be responsible for your using Slip Switch in a way that breaks the law.
Your use of Slip Switch is subject to the following additional restrictions. You represent, warrant, and agree that you will not use Slip Switch in a manner that:
- Infringes or violates the intellectual property rights or any other rights of anyone else (including Geshido)
- Violates any law or regulation, including, without limitation, any applicable export control laws
- Is harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Violates the security of any computer network, or cracks any passwords or security encryption codes
- Interferes with the proper working of Slip Switch
A violation of any of the foregoing is grounds for requesting that you cease using Slip Switch.
What are my rights in Slip Switch?
You understand that Geshido owns Slip Switch. You won’t modify, publish, transmit, participate in the transfer or sale of, reproduce, create derivative works based on, or otherwise exploit Slip Switch without prior permission from Geshido.
All data that you create in Slip Switch remains your data.
License Grant and Restrictions
Grant of License: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Geshido Corporation grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use Slip Switch for your individual use. Each license is issued to a single individual and may not be shared with or used by any other person.
Current Free Use: Slip Switch is currently available at no charge. Geshido reserves the right to require a paid license for continued use of Slip Switch at any time in the future. If Geshido decides to require payment, notice will be provided either through updates to these Terms of Use or through an automatic software update to the application. You will then have the opportunity to decide whether to purchase a license to continue using Slip Switch.
Multi-Device Use: A valid Slip Switch license permits you to install and activate Slip Switch on multiple devices that you personally own or control for your individual use. This multi-device capability is intended to accommodate your use across personal computers (such as work and home computers) and does not permit sharing with other individuals.
Non-Transferable and Non-Shareable: Your license to use Slip Switch is personal to you as an individual and may not be transferred, assigned, shared, sold, or otherwise conveyed to any other person or entity. You may not permit any other individual to use Slip Switch under your license, and each user must obtain their own separate license from Geshido.
License Revocation: Geshido reserves the right to revoke your license at any time if you breach these Terms or misuse Slip Switch, including but not limited to sharing your license key with others or permitting other individuals to use Slip Switch under your license.
Data storage and management
Slip Switch stores your data locally on your device’s file system in accordance with the terms of its Privacy Policy. The integrity and privacy of your data depends on your operating system and device functioning according to specifications. Geshido is not responsible for any issues caused by operating system malfunctions or deviations from expected behavior.
Online Services
While Slip Switch’s core functionality operates locally on your device, the application may connect to servers owned or controlled by Geshido or its third-party service providers for the following purposes:
- Update checks: Slip Switch may periodically check for available updates. During these checks, the application may transmit your current application version and operating system information to determine compatibility.
- License validation: If Geshido requires payment for Slip Switch in the future, Slip Switch may connect to third-party payment processor servers to verify the validity of your license.
- Future services: Slip Switch may include additional online features in the future. These features may require internet connectivity and may transmit additional technical information as necessary for their operation. Geshido will provide notice of any such features and an opportunity to accept or decline usage before they are enabled.
You may disable automatic update checks in the application settings. Core offline functionality of Slip Switch will continue to function without an internet connection, though license validation (if required in the future) would require connectivity.
Does Geshido have any publicity rights?
Geshido may contact you to request if we may use your trade names, trademarks, service marks, logos, and other distinctive brand features in presentations, marketing materials, customer lists, financial reports and website listings for the purpose of advertising or publicizing your use of Slip Switch. We will not publicize your use of Geshido without prior authorization.
Data and licenses
Slip Switch does not require you to provide any data to Geshido. All data that you create in Slip Switch remains your data and is stored only locally on your device. Geshido does not claim ownership of your notes, data, or any other personal information.
If you choose to share logs or diagnostic information with Geshido for support purposes, you are responsible for redacting or removing any sensitive information before sharing. By sharing such information, you grant Geshido a license to use this information solely for the purpose of providing support and improving Slip Switch.
Third party dependencies and limitations
Slip Switch operates on Windows and macOS operating systems. Geshido shall not be responsible for the operation of these platforms, nor the availability or operation of Slip Switch to the extent such availability and operation is dependent upon these platforms. You shall be solely responsible for procuring any rights necessary for you to access your device and for complying with any applicable terms or conditions.
If there is a dispute between you and any third party (including operating system vendors or your employer), you agree that Geshido is under no obligation to become involved. You release Geshido, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and successors from claims, demands, and damages of every kind or nature, known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, disclosed or undisclosed, arising out of or in any way related to such disputes and/or Slip Switch. If you are a California resident, you shall and hereby do waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which, if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.”
Will Geshido ever change Slip Switch?
We’re always trying to improve Slip Switch, so it may change over time. We may introduce new features, modify existing features, or discontinue Slip Switch entirely. We reserve the right to make these changes at any time, in our sole discretion, and without prior notice.
Does Slip Switch cost anything?
Slip Switch is currently available at no charge. You may use Slip Switch without any payment requirements.
Geshido reserves the right to require a paid license for continued use of Slip Switch at any time in the future. We may also introduce additional paid features or premium tiers. If we decide to require payment for Slip Switch, we will provide notice through updates to these Terms of Use and/or through an automatic software update to the application. You will have the opportunity to decide whether to purchase a license to continue using Slip Switch under any new pricing terms.
Payment Processing
If Geshido requires payment for Slip Switch in the future, payment processing will be handled through a third-party payment processor designated by Geshido (“Payment Processor”). When payment is required:
- Your payment information (including name, email, billing address, and payment details) will be collected and stored by the Payment Processor in accordance with their privacy policy and terms of service.
- Geshido may have access to certain information from the Payment Processor, including your name, email address, and license status, solely for the purpose of providing customer support.
- Geshido will not use your contact information obtained through the Payment Processor for marketing purposes.
- Slip Switch may contact the Payment Processor’s servers to validate your license status.
Geshido reserves the right to select or change payment processors at its discretion. Any such changes will be communicated through application updates and/or updates to these Terms.
Other Geshido Products and Donations
Geshido may offer other applications, services, or donation options separate from Slip Switch. Each Geshido product has its own licensing terms.
Paid licensing and future services
Geshido may require a paid license for continued use of Slip Switch at any time, or may introduce additional paid features or premium services (such as cloud storage or synchronization). Notice of any such requirements or features will be provided through updates to these Terms of Use and/or through an automatic software update to the application. Any paid licensing or services will have their terms and pricing presented at the time they are introduced.
Refund policy
Slip Switch is currently available at no charge, so no refunds are applicable. If Geshido requires payment for Slip Switch in the future, a refund policy will be presented at that time.
What if I want to stop using Slip Switch?
You’re free to stop using Slip Switch at any time by uninstalling the application from your device. Since Slip Switch stores data only locally on your device, uninstalling the application will remove all locally stored data in the application’s data directory.
Geshido may also request that you cease using Slip Switch for any reason in our discretion, including your breach of these Terms.
Provisions that, by their nature, should survive termination of these Terms shall survive termination. By way of example, all of the following will survive termination: any obligation you have to pay us or indemnify us, any limitations on our liability, any terms regarding ownership or intellectual property rights, and terms regarding disputes between us, including without limitation the arbitration agreement.
Warranty disclaimer
Geshido provides Slip Switch “AS IS” without warranty of any kind. We make no representations or warranties concerning Slip Switch, and we will not be responsible or liable for the accuracy, reliability, or functionality of Slip Switch. We are not responsible for any lost notes, data loss, or other consequences resulting from the use of Slip Switch. SLIP SWITCH IS PROVIDED BY GESHIDO ON AN “AS-IS” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT USE OF SLIP SWITCH WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Accessibility disclaimer
While we strive to make Slip Switch accessible and may reference accessibility features in our marketing materials, such references do not create any legal obligation or guarantee to accommodate any particular person, disability, or accessibility need. Any accessibility features are provided on a good faith, best effort basis.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY APPLICABLE LAW, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AND UNDER NO LEGAL THEORY (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, TORT, CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE) SHALL GESHIDO (OR ITS LICENSORS OR SUPPLIERS) BE LIABLE TO YOU OR TO ANY OTHER PERSON FOR (A) ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, LOSS OF DATA, OR COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, OR (B) ANY AMOUNT, IN THE AGGREGATE, IN EXCESS OF THE GREATER OF (I) $100 OR (II) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO GESHIDO FOR SLIP SWITCH IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTH PERIOD PRECEDING THIS APPLICABLE CLAIM, OR © ANY MATTER BEYOND OUR REASONABLE CONTROL, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO OPERATING SYSTEM CHANGES OR MALFUNCTIONS. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION AND EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Indemnity
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Geshido, its affiliates, officers, agents, employees, and partners harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages (actual and consequential), losses and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from or in any way related to any third party claims relating to (a) your use of the Services (including any actions taken by a third party using your account), and (b) your violation of these Terms. In the event of such a claim, suit, or action (“Claim”), we will attempt to provide notice of the Claim to the contact information we have for your account (provided that failure to deliver such notice shall not eliminate or reduce your indemnification obligations hereunder).
Assignment
You may not assign, delegate or transfer these Terms or your rights or obligations hereunder, or your Services account, in any way (by operation of law or otherwise) without Geshido’s prior written consent. We may transfer, assign, or delegate these Terms and our rights and obligations without consent.
Choice of law
These Terms, and any disputes arising out of or related hereto, are governed by and will be construed under applicable federal law and the laws of the State of California, without regard to the conflicts of laws provisions thereof.
Each party hereby agrees that any judicial proceeding will be brought in the state or federal courts located in, respectively, San Mateo County, California, or the Northern District of California.
Each party hereby consents and submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts. In any action or proceeding to enforce rights under the Terms, the prevailing party will be entitled to recover its reasonable costs and attorney’s fees.
Entire agreement
The Terms, including the Privacy Policy and any terms incorporated by reference into the Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and us and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, proposals or representations, written or oral, concerning its subject matter. To the extent of any conflict or inconsistency between the provisions in these Terms and any pages referenced in these Terms, the terms of these Terms will first prevail.
Miscellaneous
You will be responsible for paying, withholding, filing, and reporting all taxes, duties, and other governmental assessments associated with your activity in connection with the Services, provided that Geshido may, in its sole discretion, do any of the foregoing on your behalf or for itself as it sees fit. The failure of either you or us to exercise, in any way, any right herein shall not be deemed a waiver of any further rights hereunder. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated, to the minimum extent necessary, so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable. You and Geshido agree that these Terms are the complete and exclusive statement of the mutual understanding between you and Geshido, and that these Terms supersede and cancel all previous written and oral agreements, communications and other understandings relating to the subject matter of these Terms. You hereby acknowledge and agree that you are not an employee, agent, partner, or joint venture of Geshido, and you do not have any authority of any kind to bind Geshido in any respect whatsoever.

Privacy Policy
We take your privacy seriously. Slip Switch is designed with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains how Slip Switch handles your data and information.
What this privacy policy covers
This Privacy Policy covers how Slip Switch treats data when you use the desktop application. Slip Switch is designed to operate entirely locally on your device with minimal data handling by Geshido Corporation (hereafter “Geshido”).
Data collection and storage
What we do NOT collect automatically
Slip Switch does not automatically collect personal data from you through the application itself. Specifically:
- We do not collect any analytics or telemetry data through the application
- We do not collect your notes or any content you create
- We do not track your usage patterns or application behavior
- We do not use cookies, web beacons, or any tracking technologies
Data collected through payment processing
If you purchase a license, personal information is collected and stored by our Payment Processor (currently Lemon Squeezy, LLC, a subsidiary of Stripe, Inc., or any successor service). This includes:
- Name and email address
- Billing address
- Payment method details (handled securely by the Payment Processor)
- License key and activation status
Geshido has access to your name, email address, and license status from the Payment Processor. This information is retained solely for customer support purposes (such as helping you activate or transfer your license). We will not use this information for marketing purposes. The Payment Processor’s handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.
How your data is stored
Slip Switch is designed to keep all your data local and private:
- Local storage only: By default, all data that you create in Slip Switch (including your notes and preferences) is stored only on your device’s local file system. You may sync this data with an online service (including future services provided by Geshido) at your own discretion, but this is not required to use Slip Switch, nor will it be done automatically without your consent.
- User control: You can access, export, or delete your data at any time using your operating system’s file management tools.
- No content transmission: By default, your notes, documents, and personal content never leave your device and are never transmitted to Geshido’s servers or any third-party servers. You may sync this data with an online service (including future services provided by Geshido) at your own discretion, but this is not required to use Slip Switch, nor will it be done automatically without your consent.
- Limited network calls: Slip Switch may connect to Geshido’s servers only for update checks as described in the Terms of Service. These connections transmit only technical information (such as app version and OS) necessary for these features, never your personal content.
Data you may choose to share
The only data Geshido may receive is information you voluntarily choose to share:
- Optional log sharing: If you experience issues with Slip Switch, you may choose to share logs or diagnostic information with Geshido for support purposes.
- Your responsibility: If you choose to share logs, you are responsible for reviewing and redacting any sensitive information before sharing.
- Support only: Any information you share is used solely for providing support and improving Slip Switch.
Data transmitted during online services
When Slip Switch connects to Geshido’s servers for update checks, the following technical information may be transmitted:
- Application version number
- Operating system type and version
When Slip Switch connects to the Payment Processor’s servers for license validation, your license key is transmitted to verify its validity. This occurs when you register a license and during periodic revalidation checks at application startup or when resuming from system sleep.
This information is used solely to provide update notifications and validate licenses. We do not use this information for tracking, profiling, or advertising purposes. You can disable automatic update checks in the application settings.
Third-party data processors
Geshido uses Lemon Squeezy, LLC (a subsidiary of Stripe, Inc.), or any successor service, as its Payment Processor for license purchases and validation. Geshido reserves the right to transfer license validation and payment processing to a different third-party provider. If such a transfer occurs, we will provide notice through application updates, email (if we have your email address from a previous purchase), and/or updates to this Privacy Policy and the Slip Switch website. The third-party provider’s handling of your data will be governed by their own privacy policy.
Data security
Since Slip Switch stores all data locally on your device, your data security depends on your device’s security and your operating system’s security. We recommend keeping your operating system updated. When you uninstall Slip Switch, all locally stored data should be removed according to operating system specifications. Geshido is not responsible for any issues caused by operating system malfunctions or deviations from expected data handling behavior.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13. If you are a child under 13, please do not attempt to use Slip Switch or send any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
Your rights and choices
Since Slip Switch does not collect personal data automatically, traditional data rights (like access, deletion, or portability) are not applicable in the usual sense. However:
- You can stop using Slip Switch at any time by uninstalling the application
- All locally stored data should be removed when you uninstall the application (subject to operating system behavior)
- You can manually delete your data at any time using your operating system’s file management tools
- You control what, if any, information you choose to share with us for support
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by updating the application and/or posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of Slip Switch after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
